COLUMBUS — Maumee Valley’s Emma Daugherty unleashed the best jumping day of her career on Friday afternoon.
Daugherty, a Maumee Valley sophomore, had never jumped any better than 5 feet, 5 inches before arriving to the Division III state track and field championships at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The atmosphere and surroundings of state competition led to the Hawk clearing a personal-best 5-7, which resulted in her finishing as state runner-up. FULL STORY
Division I: Athletes race for titles
COLUMBUS — St. John’s Jesuit’s 3200 relay team that included Ben Clark, Dominic Bier, Vamsi Chodisetty, and Jake Barnes had reason to be optimistic at the Division I state track and field championship on Friday evening at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The Titans were coming off winning at the regional meet by posting a regional meet-record time of 7:43.89, which stood as one of the top times qualifying for the state meet.
However, St. John’s didn’t have the kind of performance it had hoped and finished fifth with a time of 7:46.04. FULL STORY
