Springfield Twp. man’s death ruled drowning

The cause of death of a man whose body was pulled from a pond at his Springfield Township apartment complex has been ruled a drowning, authorities said Monday.

Dr. Cynthia Beisser, a deputy Lucas County coroner, said an autopsy Monday indicated Christopher Hall, 23, drowned. The coroner’s office believes it was an accidental drowning, but toxicology reports are pending.

The body was recovered about 11 a.m. Sunday from the 25-foot-deep pond at the Windjammer Apartments in the 6500 block of Dorr Street. The retrieval followed a search hours earlier by neighbors and rescue teams
