DELPHOS, Ohio — A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the face with a deck screw, Delphos police said.
The victim, who was not identified, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and was released from a hospital Friday, police said. No arrests were reported, but a review is planned by Allen County prosecutors.
Police said officers and Allen County sheriff’s deputies were called at 9:47 p.m. about a stabbing, though the caller’s details were scant. Officers found the stabbing scene at the Deer Creek Apartments on Lima Avenue. Officers learned the victim was the male companion of the suspect’s estranged fiancee.
The deck screw was stuck in the man’s face until medical personnel removed it. Deck screws are usually around 2.5 to 3 inches in length.
