Sylvania man gets intervention in crash

A Sylvania man was granted intervention in lieu of conviction Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to vehicular assault for a Sept. 29 crash that injured a Toledo man.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding placed Jared Lyle, 20, of 4428 Tamworth Rd., under the jurisdiction of the county’s adult probation department for two years, during which time he is to continue outpatient counseling, continue taking medication for depression, complete a drug awareness program, and pay a $500 fine. If he successfully completes the intervention plan, the charge will be dismissed.

In January, Mr. Lyle was indicted on charges alleging he was under the influence of marijuana when his vehicle went left of center on Sylvania Avenue near Holland-Sylvania Road and struck a car driven by Mohammed Jarouche, 36.
