JOPLIN, Mo. — Toledo’s Owens Corning will spend $90 million to build a manufacturing facility in Joplin, Mo., that is expected to create more than 100 jobs.
The new plant, which was announced Friday by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon and company executives, will make OC’s Thermafiber mineral wool insulation for commercial, residential, and industrial applications. The material is used for sound control and energy efficiency.
Owens Corning will occupy the 303,000-square-foot facility by 2016. The company received an economic incentive package tied to job creation and investment criteria.
