FREMONT — Sandusky County is “very concerned” with the proposed alignment of the NEXUS Gas Transmission line because it passes within 110 feet of one of its public wells, according to a letter Steven F. Shiets, the county’s sanitary engineer, filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The letter, dated Dec. 24 and made public Monday, said the wells provide public water for nearby Shorewood Village.
“We have repeatedly indicated to the crew performing the investigation that they are in the Shorewood well field and ... the alignment has not been changed,” Mr. Shiets wrote.
