A Sylvania man with a long history of robbing banks was indicted Wednesday by a Lucas County grand jury on two counts of robbery and a repeat violent offender specification.
Howard Hughes, 55, of the 5800 block of Durbin Road, was charged in a June 24 holdup of the Huntington Bank branch, 4105 Talmadge Rd. He reportedly gave tellers a note demanding money. The robber fled with nearly $2,500.
Hughes was identified and arrested after a photo from a surveillance camera was released to the media. He has robbery convictions dating to 1984, prosecutors said.
