Man arrested in Fifth Third Bank robbery

MONROE — The Monroe County Sheriff’s department has identified a suspect who robbed the Fifth Third Bank branch in Frenchtown Township.

Authorities would not release his name pending arraignment in federal court. He is said to be a 35-year-old man from the Howell, Mich. area where he was located at his residence Tuesday night and arrested by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office without incident.

The man is accused of robbing the bank at 2133 N. Telegraph Rd. north of Mall Road in Frenchtown Township at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. He is also believed to be responsible for other recent bank robberies in the Toledo and the Livingston County area.
