'Mr. Eclipse' to deliver lecture at UT

University of Toledo alumnus Fred Espenak, a retired NASA astronomer will deliver a free lecture on "Experiencing Totality: The Great Total Eclipse of 2024."

The 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday presentation will be held at Doermann Theatre, University Hall, 2925 W Bancroft St.

“Known as ‘Mr. Eclipse,’ [Mr.] Espenak has written dozens of books on eclipses, generated predictions and maps for more than 10,000 solar eclipses and created three websites devoted to eclipses,” a website posting states. “He has participated in 34 eclipse expeditions around the world, and his photographs have been published in numerous magazines and appeared on the USPS postage stamp commemorating the 2017 eclipse across the USA.”

Parking will be free from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Lot 1N.
