Washington Local Schools will be returning to remote learning due to issues with staff coverage.
District officials announced Tuesday that students will return to remote learning beginning Wednesday. According to a written statement posted on the district’s Facebook page, each school district will send its remote learning schedule to parents via email.
Teachers and staff will continue to report to respective buildings as permitted by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department’s guidance and recommendations. Students are expected to return to in-person instruction on Dec. 7.
In other news Toledo Public Schools officials also announced updates to its plans to return to remote learning on Tuesday.
According to a written statement, all students — including students with disabilities — will return to remote learning Monday and will continue with the learning plan until Dec. 17 — the end of the first semester.
Students will then transition to winter break.
District officials wrote that teachers will continue to develop virtual learning plans that will meet the individual needs of students with disabilities. TPS officials also vowed that educators and staff members will work collaboratively with families to ensure that children continue to receive support amid the district’s return to remote learning.
