MONROE — Adult learners can get help with computer basics, budgeting, and organization through a series of workshops offered by Monroe County Community College’s Momentum program.
Momentum is a new program “designed to help adult college students obtain the postsecondary credentials that are essential in a knowledge-based economy,” according to the college. A block party with free food, music, giveaways, and activities for kids will kick off the program Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Arthur Lesow Community Center, 120 Eastchester St., Monroe.
The workshops are open to any adult learner age 21 or up in Monroe County, college officials said. Transportation will be provided as well as childcare for children from 5-12.
The upcoming topics are:
● June 24: Getting started, computer basics
● July 8: The art of budgeting
● July 22: From overwhelmed to organized: study and notetaking strategies.
The sessions, which begin with dinner at 5:30 p.m., will be held in the Opportunity Center at the community center from 6 to 7 p.m.
