Refuse and recycling events continue on Saturdays

Engage Toledo will hold refuse and recycling drop-off events each Saturday in August, starting with one this week at DeVeaux Elementary School in West Toledo.

The event Saturday at DeVeaux, 2620 W. Sylvania Ave., will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include collection of durable medical equipment by The Ability Center of Greater Toledo. All items are cleaned and sanitized before being given to needy people with disabilities, but must function and are evaluated before being accepted.

The Engage Toledo drop-off accepts electronic waste, televisions and computer monitors, up to 10 non-commercial tires, documents, household goods, toys, bulky items, and refuse. Latex paint is accepted for $1 per gallon. Major appliances are not accepted.
