Ohio BMV operations back up after computer network crash

OBJECTA computer network failure shut down Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles operations across the state Wednesday morning, but by early afternoon all services were again available.

Lindsey Bohrer, a bureau spokesman, said the bureau resumed processing registrations around 12:30 p.m. and licenses at 1 p.m.

The computers had gone down about 9 a.m. because of a network failure that was handled by the state Office of Information Technology, she said.
