Thanks to the Blade for coverage in your Sept. 12 issue of local and national ceremonies which took place in remembrance of 9/11.
What a contrast to the three most prominent national TV networks and their local affiliates (channels 11, 13, and 24) which chose normal programming on Sept. 11. They ignored live feeds they could have tapped into around the 9 a.m. hour from Ground Zero in New York, the Pentagon, and rural Pennsylvania, where moving ceremonies paid tributes to the victims.
lt’s a disgrace and embarrassment that the management of these local TV stations could not carry these events live. Their indifference disrespects the victims and their families. We must never forget 9/11 as an inexcusable and cowardly attack on our nation, even if these media outlets didn’t think the rites were important enough to cover.

Senior pols past prime
Having retired at 59 I have observed that older politicians seem to want power forever. President Biden has over 50 years in power, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) is running for re-election at 70-plus years, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) the same. They are stuck in the past with thinking that doesn’t reflect today’s population. President Kennedy represented the people of the time. He moved us forward. We need politicians who represent the voters, not the old money. New thinking will serve us much better than old money.

Try the artificial kind
It’s so easy. Apparently the task of redistricting is too difficult for Ohio legislators. This is a case for A.I.
After all, the word “intelligence “ is in the definition.

I’ll draw map for $10M
Why is it that high schools in Ohio are able to draw up districts for sports but the so-called experts in Columbus can’t get voting districts drawn up?
It should be simple, and in fact I offer to do it. Oops, I’m a nobody and have no credibility so my offer will not be taken seriously.
So let me rephrase my offer. For $10 million dollars I propose to write a computer program that will draw up the voting districts.
The goofballs in Columbus seem to have little interest in solving problems even when simple solutions are obvious.
They throw many dollars at problems that they hope will not be solved (Lake Erie is an example, the $10 million for a study to find a better route from Toledo to Columbus is another example, and then there is the $20 million flushed down the toilet to vote on Issue 1).
So, I expect they will not be able to resist my generous offer to solve their redistricting problem.
