Stars of 2016 coming to big screen
Last summer, Americans and our neighbors to the north spent nearly $4.4 billion at the box office, the second-biggest total of all time, trailing only 2013’s May-August period ($4.8 billion). With 2015’s movie tickets priced at, on average, $8.42, the box-office math works out to more than one and a half movie tickets bought per person in North America from May through August. Naturally, Hollywood’s expectations for this summer’s film slate — which begins Friday.
