Art, poetry, and public transportation will be the focus at Sunday's opening reception for the "Art in TARTA" project.
Eight TARTA buses have been "wrapped" with huge sheets of contact paper imprinted with designs and poetry created by area high school and college students.
The reception, with entertainment, refreshments, and acknowledgement of the many participants, will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Parkwood Gallery, 1838 Parkwood Ave. at Monroe Street, across from the Toledo Museum of Art. The eight wrapped buses will also be on site.
The project was led by the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and Toledo Area Regional Transportation Authority.
Student art and poetry will be exhibited in the gallery weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Dec. 23.
