19th-century art of Egypt, Middle East debuts at Toledo Art Museum
It features paintings and photographs of Egypt and the Middle East made during the 19th century by watercolorist Charles Hamilton Smith; photographers Francis Frith, Felix Bonfils, Antonio Beato, and others. The works have been borrowed from the private Royal-Athena Galleries in New York.
Last chance to see The Psychedelic 60s: Posters from the Rock Era at Toledo Museum Art. With 150 posters made by “underground” artists between 1966-71, a black-light room with glowing posters, and on-going rock-concert footage, the exhibit closes Sept. 12.
Also at the museum, people experiencing the early stages of memory loss and their companions are invited to a special art tour at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11. Reservations for Meet Me at TMA are not required but are suggested. Information: 419-537-1999.
• Plein air painting and a potluck lunch will be hosted by Prizm Creative Community 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 9 at the 577 Foundation cottage, 577 East Front St. in Perrysburg.

A nonprofit arts group, Prizm is asking the public for feedback on its performance and input for its planning, by completing a 10-minute survey that will be online Sept. 7 through 17 at barbmauntler.com.
• The work of Paul Geiger, David Pett, and Jeff Klopping will be displayed at a Life Drawing Exhibit that opens with a 6 to 9 p.m. reception Sept. 8 at Vino 100, Briarfield Blvd. in Maumee. Highlighting the undraped human form, their art will be displayed through September. Information: tholepinpress.com.
• Boy Girl Boy Girl continues in the Parkwood Gallery through Oct. 1. It features the playful art of four couples, displayed in a boy-girl format. Participating are Gary Leib, Judy Glantzman, Jay Noble, Heidi Leitzke, Jim Doiron, Lisa Simon, Dan Hernandez, and Kelly Tegen. The gallery is at 1838 Parkwood Ave. at Monroe Street.
• Still Standing, a dozen large photographs of local architecture by Penny Gentieu at Owens Community College's Terhune Gallery Outside, continues through Sept. 18. Gentieu's images include multigenre layers that reveal the buildings' inner lives. The gallery is in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts.
FINDLAY
Call for artists: The Findlay Art League's annual juried show will accept works completed in the last four years and not previously exhibited in a league show. No photography.
