Paper-cutting artist to lead session in Rossford

Mary Gaynier, paper-cutting artist, leads a 6 to 7:30 p.m. session Thursday in the Rossford Public Library. She'll bring templates tonight for people to try their hand at making intricate snowflakes. The library is at 720 Dixie Hwy. in Rossford.

Nancy Wikoff Leetch's sunny floral and landscape paintings are in the Library Gallery at Owens Community College's Findlay-area campus on Bright Road through March 23. Information: 567-429-3088.

Upcoming events at the Toledo Museum of Art include:

● Please Be Seated, a look at how the design of chairs has changed over the years, at 1:30 p.m. March 3. The hour-long program is part of Meet Me at TMA for people who have mild dementia and their caregivers. Information: 419-537-1999.

● Riley Werkman, demonstrating glass making in the Glass Pavilion, 1 to 5 p.m. March 3 and 4.

● Jay Shafer, founder of the Tiny House Co., speaking about living small and simply at 7 p.m. March 8 in the Peristyle Theater. He's a leader in the small-living movement and his talk is part of the museum's 2012 Masters Series Lectures. One of his tiny houses is on the Monroe Street steps of the museum and can be explored during museum hours. It's part of the Small Worlds exhibit, the rest of which is in the Canaday Gallery. Shafer is a designer specializing in sustainable architecture and urban planning. He lives in an 89-square-foot-house in California.

Pastel painting will be taught in two three-hour sessions March 10 and 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Island House Hotel, 102 Madison St., Port Clinton. Instructor will be Rebecca Booth. Some supplies will be provided. Cost: $90. A special overnight package is offered in conjunction with the hotel. Coordinated by the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council. Exposed & Empowered: 2 Women, 2 Stories, will open with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. March 2 in the Red Tornado Art Gallery. Featured through March 31 will be artwork by Rebeca Mahler and Meghan Rahm, both of whom create pieces that reflect their journeys with mental illness and treatment. The gallery is at 111 E. Crawford St. in Findlay.
