Toledo Museum of Art segment to air separately

A segment about art glass in Toledo will be aired during Your Morning Sunday, 7 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday on WTOL-TV, Channel 11.

The five- to seven-minute segment was filmed for and will appear on tomorrow's CBS Sunday Morning, which will not be aired locally because of scheduling conflicts. In its stead will be cartoons, bumped from their Saturday slot by college football. Children's programming must run within certain time slots on Saturdays and Sundays, said CJ Hoyt, news director at WTOL.

A CBS crew was in Toledo in late July to film a segment about 1962 workshops at the Toledo Museum of Art where technological breakthroughs paved the way for artists being able to melt and form glass in small kilns. "It was really about glass in the Glass City," said Kelly Garrow, the museum's director of communications.

The 50th anniversary of the beginning of studio-made glass was celebrated in June when 1,000 people came to town for the Glass Art Society's annual convention.

The segment can also be seen Sunday online at cbsnews.com/sunday-morning; on the museum's Web site (toledomuseum.org) and Facebook page, and on WTOL's site (toledonewsnow.com).
