Five area children's charities and educational scholarship programs received more than $100,000 from the proceeds of a charity event sponsored by Toledo-area auto dealers.
The money was raised at a Feb. 2 gala preceding this year's Toledo Auto Show. The total was the same amount raised a year ago.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo, Toledo Children's Hospital Foundation, and Court Appointed Special Advocates each received $30,000. Northwood University in Michigan and Owens Community College each received $10,000 for scholarships.
