DETROIT DaimlerChrysler AG plans to meet in New York with Magna International Inc., Blackstone Group LP, and at least two other prospective buyers for its Chrysler unit as early as today, people with knowledge of the meetings said yesterday.
Ruediger Grube, a DaimlerChrysler management board member who oversees corporate strategy, will meet separately with the suitors, said the people, who didn t want to be identified because the talks are private. Kirk Kerkorian s Tracinda Corp., which made a $4.5 billion bid for Chrysler last week, isn t scheduled for the meetings, the person said.
