DETROIT Auto parts supplier Plastech Engineered Products Inc. has received permission from a federal bankruptcy judge in Detroit to start an auction process June 16 to sell its assets.
Plastech lawyer Gregg Galardi told U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Phillip Shefferly on Friday that the Dearborn company expects to prepare bids during the next two weeks on the company s interior and exterior component businesses.
Plastech makes door panels, consoles, bumpers, and other products, and it has two factories in Monroe and one each in Wauseon and Bryan. It filed for bankruptcy protection Feb. 1 after Chrysler LLC announced it was canceling its contracts because of a pricing dispute.
