BLADE STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES

WASHINGTON -- About 40 workers at Tower Automotive in Bellevue, Ohio, are eligible to apply for worker adjustment assistance, the U.S. Department of Labor has ruled.

Trade Adjustment Assistance is a federal program that provides aid to workers who lose their jobs or whose work hours and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports. The benefits include training for employment in another job or career, income support, job search allowances, and relocation allowances.

Bellevue is about 45 miles southeast of Toledo.
