DETROIT — A charity preview last week for the 2013 North American International Auto Show raised $3.9 million, show officials said.
The money will be split among nine area children's charities. Show officials said more than 13,000 people attended the Friday event, which was held the day before the show opened to the public.
Show officials said the annual event raised the most money since 2008, and that donations were up 30 percent over last year.
