Chrysler Group LLC said Wednesday it plans to shut down the Jeep Wrangler line at its Toledo Assembly Complex for one week this summer. It will run the yet-to-start Cherokee production without interruption.
The Dundee Engine Plant also will work through summer.
Automakers traditionally shut down production lines for two weeks in midsummer for maintenance and to make changes.
To meet demand, automakers have scaled back or completely done away with the shutdowns in recent years. Last year, Chrysler kept the Wrangler line moving all summer.
Wrangler production was up 8 percent through April.
