2 tournaments on BGSU women s schedule

BOWLING GREEN Two tournaments and several high-profile opponents highlight the 2006-07 schedule for the Bowling Green State University women s basketball team.

BGSU, the defending Mid-American Conference champion, will travel to Cancun, Mexico for a tournament Dec. 19-20, where their opponents include national runner-up Duke. The Falcons will also play in a tournament in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 17-18.

Of the Falcons five non-conference home games, four are against opponents that either played in the NCAA Tournament or the NIT.

BGSU hosts Temple in the home opener on Nov. 24, as well as Oakland, Indiana and Robert Morris.

The Falcons open their season Nov. 10 at Detroit, and will travel to play NCAA Tournament participant Notre Dame on Nov. 13.

BGSU begins the MAC season at Akron on Jan. 3. The Falcons host the University of Toledo on Feb. 4. The season concludes Feb. 28 at home against Miami.
