Bowling Green falls to Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Bowling Green State University failed to finish a game strongly for the second week in a row, ultimately costing the Falcons a shot at pulling off a road victory.

This time BG allowed Marshall University to score 17 straight points in the second half en route to a 17–10 comeback victory last night before 23,029 at Edwards Stadium.

In spite of the defeat, senior wideout Freddie Barnes put together a record-setting effort by catching a school-record 17 passes for 109 yards. Tyler Sheehan completed 43 of 62 passes for 383 yards, including one touchdown for the Falcons (1-2).

Barnes broke his own pass-catching record of 15, which he set in the Falcons' season-opening 31-14 win over Troy at Perry Stadium.

Marshall quarterback Brian Anderson led the Thundering Herd (2-0) on three scoring drives in the second half after falling behind 7-0 in the first half.
