BOWLING GREEN -- Danny McElroy will not return to the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, the school announced Friday.
McElroy played two seasons for the Falcons. Last year he played in all 32 games, starting 13 times, and averaged 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
"We appreciate the contributions Danny provided to the men's basketball program over the past two years," BG coach Louis Orr said in a release. "We wish him well as he moves forward."
McElroy's departure gives the Falcons one scholarship available for this season. That scholarship could be given to Chauncey Orr, the coach's son and Bowling Green High School standout who verbally committed to the program recently.
