BOWLING GREEN -- Nate Locke, a fullback-linebacker from Massillon Jackson High School, has verbally committed to play football at Bowling Green State University.
Locke is a 6-1, 220-pounder who finished with 50 solo tackles and 22 assists as well as three sacks last season.
"Nate is one-of-a-kind," Jackson coach Beau Balderson. "He's a team captain, a three-year starter, and a leader in the weight room.
"He's also very unselfish. We may keep him at linebacker or move him to defensive end, and he'll do whatever is best for the team. He's the strongest kid on our team, and the smartest kid, too. He's a 4.0 student who picks up the game very fast."
By NCAA rule, BG coaches cannot comment on recruits.
Locke is the third player known to have verbally committed to BG, joining Southview quarterback Austin Valdez and linebacker Patric Hannon of Lyndhurst (Ohio) Brush.
