Bowling Green raced out to an 11-1 lead Wednesday night at Northern Illinois and never trailed the rest of the way, winning 57-41.
The Falcons earned their first road win in the Mid-American Conference and their second win in a row.
Bowling Green followed up a 70-59 home win over Ball State this past Saturday with another strong performance and move to 9-13 on the season and 4-5 in conference play.
A’uston Calhoun paced the Falcons with 15 points and 12 rebounds on the game. Richaun Holmes added 11 points in only 19 minutes of action.
Bowling Green shot 52.2 percent from the field in the first half, making 12 of its 23 field goals and took a 30-15 advantage into halftime.
Northern Illinois was ice-cold in the opening half, going 4-29 from the field.
Calhoun scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half on 4-10 shooting and a 4-5 mark from the free-throw line as the Falcons outscored Northern Illinois 27-26 after halftime.
The Huskies improved their shooting in the second half, shooting 45.5 percent from the field, but were never able to cut into the lead.
Jordon Crawford, Bowling Green’s leading scorer coming into the game, struggled to find his shot. Crawford managed only two points on 1-9 shooting, including 0-4 from beyond the arc and never got to the foul line.
Abdel Nader was the only Northern Illinois player to score in double figures with 12 points. The Huskies fall to 5-16 overall and 3-6 in the MAC.
Bowling Green will travel to Athens on Saturday afternoon to face Ohio University.
