BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University tennis coach Penny Dean was named Mid-American Conference coach of the year.
Dean, in her 23rd season in charge of the Falcons, led the team to a 16-4 mark that tied the school record for dual-match victories. BG posted a 5-3 record in MAC play and earned the second seed in the league tournament, both bests in program history.
Individually, junior Nikki Chiricosta was named to the All-MAC second team. She has posted a 51-21 overall record this season, including a 26-8 mark in singles.
