The lineup for authors series
The 2003-2004 “Authors! Authors!” series brings to town writers who entertain, inform, and inspire.
John C. Moore, of Holland, Ohio, speaks Oct. 7 about his approach to handling stress. He's the author of A Positive Attitude is a Muscle: A Managed Stress Survivor's Manual.
New York Times health and nutrition columnist Jane Brody speaks Nov. 12.
Chicago lawyer Scott Turow takes the podium March 2. His novels include Presumed Innocent and The Laws of Our Fathers. His forthcoming book deals with the death penalty.
On April 1, Eric Jerome Dickey talks about his works of fiction, including The Other Woman and Naughty or Nice.
Jane Smiley speaks May 18. The author of Moo and Horse Heaven, she shot to fame in 1992 after winning a Pulitzer Prize for A Thousand Acres, which was turned into a movie. Good Faith was published this year.
All talks begin at 7 p.m. at the Great Hall of the Stranahan Theater. Tickets are $8 and available at library branches and at the door. “Authors! Authors!” is sponsored by The Blade and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.
