CMU's Smith helps East in Classic

LAS VEGAS Start High School graduate Kent Smith (Central Michigan) threw a touchdown pass as the East beat the West 41-3 yesterday in the Las Vegas All-American Classic.

Smith s touchdown pass went to Miami (Fla.) fullback Quadtrie Hill, who also ran for a touchdown.

Tulane safety Tra Boger scored on a 40-yard interception return and a 24-yard fumble return.

Bowling Green wide receivers Charles Sharon and Steve Sanders also played for the East.
