Central Michigan beats NIU in OT
DEKALB, Ill. Andrew Aguila kicked a 40-yard field goal in overtime to lift Central Michigan to a 33-30 victory over Northern Illinois last night.
The Huskies rallied from a 24-point deficit.
The Chippewas (8-2, 6-0 Mid-American Conference) dominated most of the first three quarters as Dan LeFevour threw two touchdown passes and rushed for two to help build the 30-6 lead.
KENT, Ohio Nate Reed booted a 26-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to give Kent State the win.
Quarterback Julian Edelman, who had 144 yards rushing and 232 yards passing, ran for two early TDs to give the Golden Flashes (3-7, 2-4 Mid-American) a 21-3 second-quarter lead.
But Temple's Kee-ay Griffin scored on a 21-yard run, Bruce Francis caught a 32-yard TD pass and Travis Shelton returned the second half kickoff 92 yards to put the Owls (3-7, 2-4) ahead 24-21.
