BLADE STAFF

The man charged in the kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old developmentally disabled girl pleaded not guilty in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Wednesday to three counts of rape and one count of kidnapping.

Ricky Jamison, 49, of 4285 Keygate Drive, Apt. 103, remains in custody in lieu of $400,000 bond. He faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.

Mr. Jamison was arrested April 13 and charged with the abduction and rape of a teenager, who was reported missing for more than 22 hours after being taken from the front yard of her home March 3. The teen, now 15, was found walking near Mr. Jamison’s apartment the next day by people who recognized her from fliers her family had distributed.

Wednesday, Mr. Jamison appeared with his attorney, Alan Konop, for arraignment. Visiting Judge Charles Wittenberg set a May 18 pretrial.
