BGSU aide is suspended in theft-in-office case
BOWLING GREEN -- An administrative secretary at Bowling Green State University has been suspended after authorities say she collected thousands of dollars in undue overtime.
Lynn Houtz, 32, of 205 Railroad St., Wayne, Ohio, is charged with one count of theft in office, accused of receiving $7,500 in overtime pay that was not worked, according to university spokesman Dave Kielmeyer.
Ms. Houtz was arraigned in Bowling Green Municipal Court on Jan. 4, the same day she was suspended with pay, according to court records, which list the "violation date" as Oct. 19, 2009.
She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Ms. Houtz worked in the BGeXperience department. The university's office of human resources is conducting a disciplinary investigation.
