Northwood man faces murder charge in shooting

An 18-year-old Northwood man was arrested early Saturday in the murder of Rory Hunter, whose body was found Tuesday in an East Toledo field.

Toledo police took Devon Daly of Plumey Street into custody without incident at 1:30 a.m. at a residence in the 1000 block of Oakdale Avenue. He was formally charged with murder at arraignment Saturday in Toledo Municipal Court, where Judge Amy Berling set bond at $1 million. He remained in the Lucas County jail Saturday evening. A court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23 before Judge Berling.

Hunter had been shot four times, including once in the head. His body was discovered in a field near 1152 East Broadway, about eight blocks from where Mr. Daly was arrested.
