Ex-Waterville Township police officer pleads guilty to viewing child porn on work computer

A former Waterville Township police officer pleaded guilty Wednesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to viewing and downloading child pornography on his work computer.

David Krego, 42, of Toledo, pleaded guilty to a charge of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, a fifth-degree felony. He will be sentenced April 16. He faces up to one year in prison and would be classified as a sexually oriented offender, registering once a year for 15 years.

He resigned from the police force, effective Monday.

He is accused of viewing and downloading a nude photo of a female juvenile on a township computer while on duty.
