A Toledo car dealership has filed a lawsuit against a local attorney and former judicial candidate claiming defamation and demanding an apology for a comment posted on Facebook.
Franklin Park Lincoln, Inc. filed the complaint Wednesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court against attorney Mark Davis.
The lawsuit alleged that Mr. Davis posted false statements on his Facebook page, that the dealership "mocked and humiliated a deaf friend of his," "refused to return his deaf friend's money pursuant to a properly canceled vehicle sale," and called for a boycott of the business.
The dealership said the posting was published with knowledge that the statements were false and demanded Mr. Davis be required to remove the statements, post a correction and apology, and pay damages in excess of $25,000.
