Ex-Waterville Township officer sentenced to 1 year in prison for viewing child porn

A former Waterville Township police officer was sentenced today to a year in prison for viewing pornographic images of children.

David Krego, 42, who pleaded guilty last month to one count of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, a fifth-degree felony, was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court. He will be required to register as a sex offender.

Krego, a patrolman with the department since 1996, voluntarily resigned as part of the plea.
