Banned BGSU student charged with trespass
BOWLING GREEN -- A former Bowling Green State University student is charged with inducing panic and criminal trespassing after being banned from campus.
Michael Peters, 28, of 521 Arlene Drive, Maumee, was arrested Thursday when he was seen on campus, according to documents filed in Bowling Green Municipal Court on Friday.
Mr. Peters was to be arraigned Friday, but the date was pushed back to Monday so the suspect could consult an attorney, according to court documents.
The Wood County jail lists Mr. Peters' bond at $12,500.
Dave Kielmeyer, university spokesman, said Mr. Peters was banned from campus this year after a faculty member and the dean of the business college received threats.
According to court documents, the suspect is accused of leaving a threatening message on a communal computer at the university.
Mr. Peters has not been a full-time student at Bowling Green since the fall of 2006, Mr. Kielmeyer said. He enrolled in fall, 2011, but did not attend classes.
