SANDUSKY — A 50-year-old man convicted of killing a Sandusky police officer last year was sentenced to life in prison today.

Kevin Randleman of Sandusky pleaded guilty today to aggravated murder, having a weapon under disability, and carrying a concealed weapon in exchange for the dismissal of a death specification for the aggravated murder charge, said Judge Tygh Tone of Erie County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Tone said he agreed and sentenced the defendant to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Sandusky police Officer Andrew Dunn was shot several times in the early morning hours of March 19 after stopping Randleman, who was riding a bicycle on Sandusky’s Tyler Street.

Officer Dunn was the first Sandusky officer to be killed in the line of duty.
