Wood Co. man, 52, gets 9 years for rape of girl

FREMONT — A Wood County man was sentenced Wednesday to nine years in prison for the rape of a 9-year-old girl.

Ricky Busler, 52, of Dunbridge had entered an Alford plea to one count of rape Dec. 10 in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court. A charge of gross sexual imposition was dismissed in exchange for his plea.

In an Alford plea, the defendant does not admit he committed a crime but acknowledges evidence is sufficient for a conviction. The court treats it as a guilty plea.

The rape occurred in a Washington Township home near Lindsey, Ohio between June and December, 2011.
