4 accused in Lengel slaying get trial dates

Four of five men charged in the Nov. 19 shooting death of a local gym owner received separate trial dates Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Devonte Harris, 19, of 1326 Gordon St., Jason Kuhns, 31, of 1416 Beecham St., Matthew Managhan, 34, of 1156 South Ave., and Chad D. Brown, 35, of 839 Walbridge Ave. were each charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, each with a gun specification. They face up to life in prison if convicted.

Judge James Bates scheduled a March 5 trial date for Kuhns, March 12 trial date for Managhan, March 19 trial date for Brown, and an April 9 trial date for Mr. Harris. The men are in custody in the Lucas County jail, each in lieu of $500,000 bond. The men are charged in the death of Joseph Lengel, Jr., 57, who owned Intensity CrossFit Gym in South Toledo. Also charged in the crime is Deitrekk Boone, 19, of the Beecham address, who has not been arrested.
