Toledo man, son of anti-violence advocate, arraigned after South Toledo shooting

The son of an anti-violence advocate was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on Wednesday on charges that he shot up a South Toledo home.

Gerald Rose, Jr., 22, of 2509 Briar Lane was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond on one charge of shooting into a habitation.

Police allege that Rose shot into a home in the 700 block of Acton Dr. in South Toledo where his girlfriend and 2-year-old child live, according to documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court. The shooting was reported on Aug. 5, 2012; charges were filed March 25.

No injuries were reported.

Police said shell casings from at least two guns were found at the scene.

Rose, the son of Gerald Rose, was accused in the last year of pistol whipping a woman, robbery, and trafficking in drugs.

He was sentenced to six months at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and released in mid-March, according to court documents.
