Mother gets 14 months for injuring her baby

A Toledo woman was sentenced Tuesday to 14 months in prison for shaking her 3-month-old son, then throwing him into his crib so hard that he fractured his skull.

Brook Ennis, 20, of 2150 N. McCord Rd. pleaded no contest March 26 in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to attempted endangering children. Judge James Bates imposed the prison sentence.

Prosecutors said Ennis brought her baby to the Toledo Hospital emergency room on Nov. 27, saying he was not acting right. Medical personnel determined the infant had suffered a skull fracture and other injuries.
