Prosecutor removed from inquiry into death

FREMONT — A judge removed the special prosecutor who had been handling the criminal investigation into the death of Castalia teenager Jacob Limberios, who died more than a year ago from a gunshot wound to the head.

The Limberios family opposed Tiffin attorney Dean Henry’s involvement, contending it presented a conflict of interest because Mr. Henry also represents Sandusky County Coroner John Wukie in the family’s legal challenge of the coroner’s suicide ruling.

During a hearing Tuesday in the Sandusky County Common Pleas Court, visiting Judge Dale Crawford excused Mr. Henry as special prosecutor in the investigation, Limberios family attorney Dan McGookey said.

Mr. McGookey said the judge indicated the Ohio Attorney General’s Office would take over Mr. Henry’s work.

A spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday said the office would not comment because it had not yet been given the court’s appointment.

A forensic pathologist hired by the Limberios family made a determination that the teenager’s death was a homicide.
