BOWLING GREEN – A former ranger for the Wood County Park District who admitted to videotaping women in park restrooms was sentenced today to 52 months in prison.

John T. Millinger, 27, of Maumee had pleaded guilty in Wood County Common Pleas Court last month to 11 counts of voyeurism, three counts of theft in office, and one count of tampering with evidence.

Judge Robert Pollex also labeled Millinger a sex offender who must register his address annually with the county sheriff's office for 15 years. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors said they would not oppose Millinger’s request for early release from prison after he serves six months.

Millinger, who resigned his position after the allegations came to light in 2011, set up a surveillance camera or his iPod in restrooms and other areas where women changed clothes at the W.W. Knight Preserve in Perrysburg Township and at Otsego Park.

Ten of the 11 voyeurism charges are misdemeanors. The 11th count alleged he secretly recorded a 2-year-old girl in a state of nudity, which is a felony.
