Food for Fines program at the Harris-Elmore Public Library and the Genoa Branch Library will benefit the Ottawa County Holiday Bureau and the Elmore Food Pantry. Patrons donate nonperishable food items or paper products equal to the value of library fines. Details: 419-862-2482.

Recycling Day, sponsored by the Eastwood High School band, is scheduled Dec. 13. Drop-off times are 9 a.m. until noon at the municipal utilities complex and in Stony Ridge on Oak Street near the community park. Items accepted include newspapers, magazines, phone books, aluminum cans, tin cans, and glass and plastic containers with a #1 or #2 recyclable symbol. Program helps support the Eastwood band.
