• Cruisin Nights will be from 5-8 p.m. on June 4, July 9, Aug. 6, and Sept. 3 in the downtown area. Registration for the car show begins at 4:30 p.m. at Eisenhour Motors, with the first 100 registrants receiving a free give-away each show. June 4 participants will receive a free 2009 Pemberville Cruisin Night T-shirt. Music from the 50s and 60s will be featured each show. New features include a mini farmers market hosted by Beeker s General Store and an antique alley hosted by Riverbank Antiques. Vendor space is available. • A Travel Extravaganza luncheon and program will be June 11 at Bayside Boardwalk, 2759 Seaman Rd. Doors open at 11:45 a.m., with a lunch buffet at noon, followed by the program at 12:30 p.m. The speaker will be Terry Sevinsky. Reservation available by phoning Caryl at 419-476-2604.

• The Silver and Gold Club, sponsored by Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, is hosting a day trip to Shipshewanna on June 17. The cost is $55. Seniors are to board the bus at 7:15 a.m. at the funeral home; they will return at 8 p.m. Reservations are due by June 10 to: Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon. No phone reservations will be taken.

• Arc Day at the Bay will be from 3 p.m. to dark June 13 at Maumee Bay State Park. The event includes games, Jerusalem Township Fire Department safety demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, a car show, food vendors, and a St. Vincent Life Flight Helicopter for viewing. Phantom Fireworks will put on a fireworks display. Admission is free. Information: 419-882-0941.


• The Lake Erie British Car Club will sponsor its 11th Annual Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 7 at Fort Meigs State Memorial in Perrysburg. Two hundred British cars will be on display. Details: 419-855-8567.

Point Place

• The second annual Entire Point Place and Shoreland Community Garage Sale begins at 9 a.m. June 11, 12 and 13 and continues until homeowners and businesses close their doors each day. Details: 419-729-0744.

• The Placers Car Club s Annual Car & Truck Show takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 at Friendship Park, 2930 131st St. A rummage sale along with food and beverages will be available.

• The Toledo Yacht Club is hosting a Skippers and Mates Breakfast Buffet at 9 a.m. June 13 at the club, 3900 North Summit St. The speaker will be provided by Toledo Fire and Rescue; the topic will be Fire Fighting Afloat and Ashore, Can t Happen to Me, with a live simulation. • Toledo historical and architectural cruises on the Maumee River aboard the Sandpiper boat are presented by the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor. The two-hour cruises take place from 1-3 p.m. Sundays on June 14 and Sept. 6, and Mondays from 8-10 p.m. July 13 and Aug. 10. Cost is $18; or $15 for a member of any historical organization in the Maumee Valley. Reservations: 419-537-1212.

• Two groups of students from France are to be in the Toledo area this summer through The World Exchange, a nonprofit educational organization. The first group will be here July 13-Aug 1 and the second group from Aug. 1-20. The students are aged 14-18, have full insurance, and are fairly fluent in English. Host families are required to provide a bed, daily meals, and time to help students experience as much of American life as possible. Program directors have planned at least two group activities. • An ice cream social will be from 4-7 p.m. June 3 at the Lutheran Home at Toledo, 131 North Wheeling St. The Cake Walkin Jass Band will provide music.
